Role Description The Industrial Hygienist I is a full-time, on-site position based in Nashville, TN, responsible for supporting the assessment and improvement of health and safety conditions within built environments. Day-to-day tasks include conducting field inspections and sampling related to indoor air quality, occupational health, and environmental health concerns; assisting in the evaluation of potential hazards; and documenting findings through clear, accurate reports. The role involves supporting senior team members with data collection, analysis, and preparation of recommendations to mitigate risks and improve air quality and workplace conditions. The Industrial Hygienist I collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, communicates with clients and project stakeholders, and helps ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills related to Indoor Air Quality and Air Quality assessment, including sampling, data collection, and interpretation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), with an understanding of regulations, standards, and risk mitigation practices.
- Candidates should possess skills in Occupational Health, including recognition of workplace hazards and support for exposure control strategies.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, environmental science, public health, occupational safety, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, observation, and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in various building environments, including fieldwork, with attention to safety protocols and proper use of sampling equipment.
- Basic familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations; certification or eligibility to work toward CIH or related credentials is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset, effective communication skills, and willingness to learn from senior professionals in a multidisciplinary team setting.
