As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you are expected to maintain Grand Prairie Foods’ Core Values in all communications with employees, visitors, and outside vendor representatives.
Role
The purpose of the role of the EHS Manager is to develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies; and to promote safety adherence to all employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain all required permits, records, and documentation for environmental and safety compliance
- Develop, implement, and grow safety policies, procedures and training programs for all employees to ensure a Culture of Safety is being executed
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and provide feedback on corrective measures for any findings
- Be the lead analyzer for any workplace safety near miss, incident, or injury
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on all safety related procedures and needs
- Provide additional support to the worker’s compensation HR representative
- Lead and grow the Safety Committee across all three facilities
- Oversee waste management, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives across all three sites
- Develop, maintain, and adjust the Emergency Action Plans for each site
- Coordinate drills and ensure readiness for potential emergencies
- Identify trends and recommend corrective action measures to mitigate and reduce incidents
- Promote the Culture of Safety through engagement and continuous improvement
- Track and record EHS performance metrics to Grand Prairie Foods Leadership
Work & Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 2 years of previous EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and food safety regulations
- CPR certified, or ability to become certified and to be an accredited trainer
- OSHA 30 certification (or the ability to become certified)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, and navigate various areas throughout the plant across all three sites
- Exposure to variation in temperature from production floor, freezers, chillers, and room temperature rooms
- Ability to work safely in obscure areas of the plant (confined spaces, electrical/mechanical rooms, rooftops, crawl spaces, etc)
- Ability to represent Grand Prairie Foods in a positive way to vendor representatives

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
