Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Director to oversee and enhance our safety protocols on construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, managing risk, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders involved in our construction projects.
Qualifications
Safety Personnel shall be considered qualified for Sites Safety Director responsibilities must Meet a minimum of one of the following (i) Bachelor’s degree in safety or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of project experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional. (ii) A minimum of 6 years’ experience project in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the OSHA 500 Training Course. (iii) A CHST designation with a minimum of four years in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and manage safety programs that align with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide training and support to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety management into construction planning and execution.
- Monitor compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and other relevant regulations.
- Prepare reports on safety performance metrics and incidents, analyzing data to improve safety practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding safety compliance issues.
- Lead investigations into accidents or near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Experience
- Proven experience in a Safety Manager role or similar position within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management principles, and compliance management practices.
- Familiarity with construction management software to track safety metrics and incidents effectively.
- Experience in occupational health assessments related to construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety information to diverse teams.
- Ability to build strong relationships across various departments to foster a culture of safety.
