We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist. This role will report directly to the EHS Manager at our Prince George facility and play a key part in maintaining and advancing our strong safety culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Air Permitting & Compliance: Lead the management of Title V or state-specific air permits. Ensure all emissions monitoring, record-keeping, and reporting requirements are met with 100% accuracy.
- Water Quality Management: Oversee Wastewater and Storm Water permits (SWPPP), ensuring sampling, testing, and discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) are submitted timely.
- Data Analysis & Auditing: Execute rigorous environmental and safety audits. Analyze EHS data trends to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Regulatory Oversight: Verify compliance with Federal, State, and local laws (EPA and OSHA). Serve as the subject matter expert for environmental technical guidance.
- Training & Safety Leadership: Oversee annual safety/environmental training, lead behavioral-based safety sessions (SafeStart), and interact daily with the workforce to mitigate risk.
- Hazard Control: Identify, evaluate, and control workplace hazards to ensure a high-heat manufacturing environment remains compliant and safe.
Required Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related technical field is preferred; alternatively, we welcome candidates with 3–5 years of progressive experience and demonstrated proficiency in the field.
· Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in EHS, with a heavy emphasis on Air, Wastewater, and Storm Water permitting in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis (specifically Excel and/or SQL) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage regulatory databases.
· Organization: Must be highly organized with a proven ability to manage multiple permit deadlines and documentation requirements simultaneously.
· Communication: Strong written and oral skills for technical reporting and delivering safety presentations.
· Industrial Expertise: Preferred experience with industrial safety (high heat/furnace environments preferred) and updating SOPs, JSAs, and JHAs.
· Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
Responsibility breakdown
Environmental Compliance & Data Management (40%)
· Air Quality: Manage air permit requirements, track emissions data, and lead the preparation of annual/semi-annual compliance reports.
· Water & Waste: Manage Wastewater/Storm Water permit compliance and oversee all industrial waste streams.
· Records Management: Maintain meticulous digital and physical records for all environmental permits to ensure audit readiness at all times.
Audits, Investigations & Inspections (25%)
· Conduct systematic Environmental and Safety Audits.
· Lead incident investigations using root-cause analysis.
· Perform housekeeping and facility inspections to ensure continuous compliance.
Training Administration (20%)
· Act as Administrator: coordinate schedules, maintain materials, and track completion rates via the LMS.
· Facilitate New Hire Orientation, including PPE fitting and OSHA-required practical walk-throughs.
Technical Documentation & Support (10%)
· Develop and update SOPs, JSAs, and technical safety guidance for departmental personnel.
Personal Development (5%)
· Maintain professional certifications and attend regulatory seminars to stay current on VDEQ/EPA/OSHA changes.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
