Overview
ISS is seeking an A-team Safety Lead / Owner’s Representative to support a high-visibility data center-related civil infrastructure project in Haskell, TX.
This role will act as the primary safety leader on behalf of a top-tier self-perform concrete contractor. The project involves roadway improvements and significant asphalt paving operations, with a strong need to elevate safety performance and alignment across project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring deep heavy civil and roadway safety experience and the ability to lead through influence in a multi-contractor environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site Safety Lead representing the contractor
- Act as the primary safety liaison between:
- Concrete contractor
- Prime Subcontractor
- Project Owner / Client
- Drive alignment and elevate safety performance across all parties
- Monitor and support safety execution for:
- Asphalt paving operations
- Traffic control environments
- Heavy civil / roadway construction activities
- Identify safety gaps and implement corrective actions to improve compliance and performance
- Influence subcontractor safety teams without direct authority over means and methods
- Communicate safety expectations clearly and professionally across stakeholders
- Support incident prevention, field engagement, and proactive safety culture development
- Provide leadership presence in the field and reinforce accountability at all levels

- Scope: Road improvement project with significant asphalt paving operations
- Client Role: General Contractor overseeing prime subcontractor
- Project Status: Active (approx. 6 months remaining, potential extension)

Qualifications
Required:
- Strong experience in heavy civil / roadway construction safety
- Direct experience with:
- Asphalt paving operations
- Traffic control and work zone safety
- OSHA 30 (Construction)
- Proven ability to operate in a leadership role without direct authority
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred:
- CHST (or other BCSP certification)
- Experience working as a GC or Owner’s representative
- Background on large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects
