Job Title: Safety Training Instructor

Position Overview
Utilitrain is seeking an experienced Safety Training Instructor to deliver high-quality safety training programs for students and industry professionals. This role focuses on teaching OSHA training, First Aid/CPR/AED, and other entry-level safety programs, while supporting Utilitrain’s broader mission of workforce development in the electrical utility and skilled trades industries.
The Safety Training Instructor will teach both individual students and employees from outside companies, requiring strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. In addition to instruction, this position will support the sales team by providing technical insight and industry credibility during conversations with prospective training clients.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSafety Training & Instruction
· Deliver OSHA safety training, First Aid/CPR/AED, and other entry-level safety certification programs
· Instruct students and company employees in safe work practices, hazard recognition, and compliance standards
· Conduct training in classroom and hands-on environments
· Ensure training is delivered accurately, professionally, and in alignment with current standards
· Maintain training records, certifications, and required documentation
· Evaluate participant understanding and provide clear feedback
· Promote a strong safety culture in all training environments
Client & Company Training
· Lead safety training sessions for employees from external companies
· Adapt training delivery to different audiences, experience levels, and learning styles
· Represent Utilitrain professionally when working with corporate clients
· Build rapport and trust with customers and partner organizations
Sales & Program Support
· Support the sales team by explaining safety training programs to prospective clients
· Provide technical and industry insight during sales conversations and site visits
· Help identify customer needs and recommend appropriate training solutions
· Assist with program demonstrations or informational sessions when needed
Collaboration & Program Development
· Work with internal staff to improve and expand safety training offerings
· Provide feedback on curriculum based on field experience and customer needs
· Stay current on safety standards, regulations, and industry expectations
Qualifications & Experience
· Experience delivering or working under OSHA, First Aid/CPR/AED, or similar safety programs
· Background in the electrical utility, construction, industrial, or related high-risk industries
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Ability to engage, instruct, and manage both students and working professionals
· Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
· Comfort speaking with customers and supporting sales conversations
· Prior instructional or training experience preferred, but not required
· Relevant safety certifications strongly preferred
· Experience with utility industry or related infrastructure sectors is preferred

Relocation Requirement
· Relocation to Elkton, MD 21921 is required prior to start date
· Relocation assistance of up to $2,500 is available for candidates who are required to relocate for this position
