Position Purpose
Responsible for overseeing and enhancing the personal care, grooming, and hygiene standards of villagers across residential programs, including the Personal Care Home (PCH), and Assisted Living Community (ALC). Ensures each villager receives individualized support in personal hygiene, grooming, and self-care, while promoting dignity, independence, and overall wellness.
Coordinate services with external specialists such as estheticians, barbers, beauticians, podiatrists, and other professionals, as well as collaborate internally with case management, nursing, and the wellness hub to ensure holistic and consistent support. The position also includes a fiduciary component, ensuring proper documentation and payment for hygiene-related services.
Required Qualifications
Valid Cosmetology License preferred; esthetician or barber license preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or coursework in Human Services, Health Sciences, or related field preferred.
Experience in personal care coordination, grooming services, or direct support within residential or healthcare settings.
Understanding of hygiene, skincare, and grooming practices appropriate for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail and documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with villagers, staff, families, and external partners.
Ability to handle fiduciary responsibilities with integrity and accuracy.
Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach that prioritizes dignity and independence.
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination of Personal Care Services
- Work with Case Management to support scheduling of villager appointments with barbers, beauticians, estheticians, and other grooming professionals.
- Maintain relationships with service providers to ensure reliable and quality care.
- Assist and support Case Management with coordinating and confirming appointments.
Hygiene Care Tracking and Documentation
- Develop and maintain a villager hygiene tracking system to monitor completion and follow-up of hygiene services.
- Document all hygiene activities, observations, and outcomes in tracking systems or electronic records (e.g., PointClickCare).
- Share relevant updates with case managers and nursing staff for inclusion in service plans and reviews.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Partner with case management to ensure hygiene supplies and grooming products are purchased and available.
- Coordinate with the Wellness Hub for specialized or medical hygiene appointments, including podiatry and dermatology.
- Work with PCH and ALC teams to support consistent hygiene routines and individualized assistance.
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding any hygiene-related health concerns.
Education and Skill Building
- Utilize the AFLS (Assessment of Functional Living Skills) tool to assess and teach villagers independence in personal hygiene.
- Develop and facilitate individual and small-group education sessions on hygiene, grooming, skincare, and personal presentation.
- Support staff training on promoting villager independence, dignity, and self-care best practices.
Quality and Appearance Standards
- Regularly monitor villager appearance and hygiene to ensure consistent personal care and grooming standards.
- Report concerns related to unmet hygiene needs or barriers to appropriate departments for timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and practices; support organizational initiatives related to health and safety.
- Promote a culture of pride, confidence, and dignity through personal appearance and care routines,
Fiduciary Responsibilities
- Complete and process Green Sheets and related financial documentation for all hygiene and personal care services.
- Ensure services such as haircuts, skincare, or podiatry visits are paid accurately and timely through villager trust funds.
- Maintain detailed records of expenditures and submit them in accordance with organizational fiscal policies.
- Coordinate with finance and case management to reconcile hygiene-related costs and ensure compliance with budgetary procedures.
Performs other duties as needed that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service and care needs of the Villagers.
Job performance will be assessed at least annually using the Annandale Village performance evaluation process.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to transport (drive) and assist Villagers in and out of vehicles. Employee is required to perform CPR/First Aid.
