Overview: The Perinatal Education Specialist is responsible for instructing the pregnant family about the perinatal period. This instruction is given primarily in Childbirth Education Classes. In addition, the Perinatal Education Specialist conducts infant care classes and inpatient antepartum education on The Women's Pavilion and Birthplace Unit and participates in other department related efforts and events. The education specialist may also conduct tours of the Women's Pavilion at each campus and facilitate support groups. Department Description:
