As the first point of contact for all families, providers, and partners, Intake Specialists set the tone for the ALP experience. This role is about much more than answering phones—it’s about delivering white glove service with empathy and professionalism. Intake Specialists ensure that every inquiry is handled quickly, accurately, and with warmth, rolling out the red carpet to show families we’ve got them every step of the way.
In this role, you will process new leads, manage digital and faxed referrals, respond to emails, and support insurance verification tasks to ensure families can move seamlessly toward services.
What You’ll Do
- Be the First Connection: Answer inbound calls and emails from families, providers, and partners with professionalism and genuine care.
- Guide Families Through the Process: Manage new client leads, referrals, and documentation to help families start services smoothly.
- Keep Information Organized: Enter and maintain accurate client data in Salesforce CRM, ensuring timely follow-up and clear documentation.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Intake Coordinators, Verification Specialists, and Clinical teams to create a seamless intake experience.
- Support Insurance Verification: Assist in verifying benefits and gathering required documentation to ensure timely approvals.
- Ensure Every Family Feels Seen: Provide consistent, high-quality service that reflects ALP’s values of compassion, accountability, and excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 2+ years in a high-volume customer service, call center, or healthcare intake role.
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce or CRM experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA and commitment to confidentiality.
- Mindset: Calm under pressure, highly organized, and committed to helping families navigate their next step with confidence and compassion.
