Position Overview
WCMS is seeking a PRN Occupational Health Nurse III (RN) to provide Saturday 11p-7a per week of onsite occupational health coverage at a client facility in Lafayette, IN. This position exists to fill in for vacations and supplemental staffing needs.
The nurse in this role will operate autonomously, managing onsite injury/illness triage, emergency response, OSHA-required surveillance, and routine clinic functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse who thrives in an independent clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage and treat work-related injuries and illnesses
- Respond to onsite medical emergencies and initiate appropriate care
- Complete OSHA-mandated surveillance exams and documentation
- Promote workplace health and wellness initiatives
- Maintain clinic organization, medical records, and regulatory documentation
- Collaborate with EHS, HR, safety, and production leadership as needed
- Function as the sole nurse on shift in an onsite occupational health clinic
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (Associate’s degree or higher)
- 3+ years of nursing experience (emergency, urgent care, or occupational health preferred)
- Strong triage and emergency-response skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Strong communication and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Occupational health or industrial clinic experience
- Knowledge of OSHA surveillance, workplace injury management, and regulatory requirements
- Strong organizational and critical-thinking skills
Compensation
- $60 per hour
- PRN position — not benefit eligible
Schedule & Work Environment
- PRN: Saturday 11p-7a per week
- Primary purpose: Staff vacation coverage and supplemental coverage needs
- Onsite occupational health clinic environment
- Works independently while coordinating with facility teams
