CCB is looking for a Safety Supervisor to join our team! The Safety Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the working conditions at job sites to ensure that all activity is compliant with applicable regulations as well as CCB’s values. The Safety Supervisor provides site‐based safety leadership and is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of safety programs and policies as well as performing workplace inspections, training, and incident investigation. The Safety Supervisor is selected based on his/her leadership capabilities, ability to communicate clearly and accurately with others, their high ethical standards, commitment to safety and technical knowledge. The Safety Supervisor must be a consistent, positive role model to others and exhibit professionalism at all times. The Safety Supervisor will report directly to the Manager of Environmental Health and Safety, and may be responsible for managing Safety Technicians, and safety‐related consultants/subcontractors.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Facilitate an environment that supports safe and healthy culture for all stakeholders.
- Facilitate employee training in areas such as safety policy and regulations, hazardous conditions, identification/monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
- Investigate accidents, near‐miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and monitor return‐to‐work activities.
- Perform safety audits and inspect worksites, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Ensure compliance with company policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Health & Safety Manual, and OSHA regulations.
- Regularly review worksite safety efforts and develop corrective action plans as necessary.
- Maintain online safety information, training and documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents and Foremen to lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
- Maintain current OSHA 30‐Hour Construction, First Aid and CPR training.
- Maintain membership and participate in relevant professional associations and/or regulatory bodies (ASSE, NFPA, NSC, etc.).
