(then Allied Signal located in Morristown, NJ) pioneered the development and production of amorphous metal, a unique alloy that exhibits a structure in which the metal atoms occur in a random pattern. The key to Metglas Inc.’s proprietary manufacturing process is the rapid-solidification of molten alloy at a rate of approximately one million degrees Celsius per second.
We are currently hiring for a 2nd shift Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Training Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions:
- *Drives safety amongst all employees
- Corrects and reports safety behavior as observed and reported
- Conducts new hire orientation and other training classes whenever needed/requested/warranted
- Conducts organization-wide training needs assessment and identifies skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
- Maps out regular and annual training plans for employees
- Conducts hands-on departmental training with new and existing employees, temporary individuals, and interns
- Conducts equipment training to include forklift training certifications and recertifications (trainer must be or be able to be certified on forklift)
- Conducts regular safety meetings and safety huddles for all
- Conducts, but not limited to, the following training: Hot Work and Burning Bar training, Hands-On Fire Extinguisher training, First Aid/CPR/AED training, Lab Safety training, Respirator Fit training, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazwoper Refresher training
- Participates in training courses (online, onsite, offsite) as requested and approved
- Designs and develops in-house training programs
- Markets available training to employees and provides necessary information about sessions
- Assesses instructional effectiveness and determines the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
- Gathers feedback from trainees after each educational session; applies feedback to training as needed
- Reports to EHS Leader and HR Manager, and partners with management team as/when needed
- Maintains updated curriculum database and training records
- Hosts train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
- Manages and maintains in-house training facilities and equipment
- Prepares and plans for training sessions
- Researches and recommends new training methods
- Plant accident & incident investigations and reporting; present to management teams
- Conducts plant tours as needed/requested
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- 5+ years previous experience working in the EHS Department of a Manufacturing plant.
- Intermediate to advanced computer experience in Excel ,PPT, Word, Outlook
- Able to regularly use Outlook email communications with other employees and work groups
- Able to create presentations via PPT
- Able to present PPT presentations and facilitate meetings to small-large groups
- Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
- Experience with e-learning platforms a plus
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Strong communication skills
- Good listening ability
- Strong problem solving skills and likes a challenge
- Must be available to work on various shifts as needed, to include nights and weekends, and any holidays we are running
- Must be reachable and available for emergencies (shared/rotating responsibility)
Education, Training, & Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Relevant certifications a plus

- Are you willing and able to be clean shaven at all times starting on Day 1 so that you are able to properly wear a respirator while at work when/if/as needed?
