Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Senior Corporate Manager of Environmental Affairs at Amalgamated Sugar’s corporate office, in Boise, Idaho. Reporting to the Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety, the Senior Corporate Manager of Environmental Affairs will be responsible for providing expert direction to the Company and environmental staff to ensure that new and existing operations comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Responsible for both development and implementation with adherence to budgets and programs. This role is also a key contributor to other factory and company initiatives.

- Develops and manages our company-wide environmental programs to ensure compliance with air quality, water quality, waste management, chemical release, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop policies and procedures for environmental programs to ensure implementation of the Corporate Environmental Policy.
- Prioritizes environmental projects and develops strategic environmental plans in collaboration with the Corporate Director of Environmental Health a& Safety and factory personnel.
- Develops environmental improvement projects and plans for the Company as to recommend cost effective control alternatives and research for developing innovative environmental improvement projects.
- Participates in negotiations with regulatory agencies resulting in reasonable and fair permits, compliance plans and long-range environmental improvement projects.
- Evaluates environmental capital, operating and M&R budgets for each facility as to provide recommendations for cost control measures.
- Develops corporate environmental operating and consulting budget implementing cost control measures.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and managing of environmental staff to foster a working environment where individuals are encouraged to demonstrate environmental responsibility at work and in their communities.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with regulatory agencies and the public.
- Approves and coordinates with the procurement and management of environmental consultants to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations.

- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. A graduate degree is preferred.
- 10-15 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing and 3-5+ years leadership experience.
- Previous experience as an Environmental Manager, similar role, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Manufacturing experience with a food production background is Preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Working knowledge of computer use and computerized maintenance management systems (JDE Preferred, MS Office, Outlook)
