Corporate Manager of Safety, Health and Environment
Job Description
The corporate manager is responsible for managing the company safety program for all plants (6), taking measures to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency through safety initiatives. Develops and leads on the job training and safety SOPs.
Responsibilities
· Safety Programs: Develop and implement the safety, health, environmental protection, and substance abuse prevention programs that affect employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection and prevention. Train all supervisors to be aware of what should be done as well as how to look for improvements as things change.
· Job Specific Safety/Training: Create job specific safety and training manual and review with Operations management. Conduct regular Safety meetings by department and complete any reports required by law. Train all new employees on the production floor on how to do their duty in a safe and efficient manner in accordance to food safety laws.
· Training: Plans and coordinates safety and health classes for all Plant employees and supervisory employees, with corporate safety trainings once or twice a year.
· Industry Awareness: Continually seek industry and market information to provide Leadership with the information necessary for successful business development in the areas of Safety and Training.
· Site Inspections: Conducts inspections of equipment and structures and work in progress to ensure that regulatory safety, health and environmental standards of the company and all applicable codes are followed. Review each job function to ensure that the training provided is being properly implemented on each shift at each location.
· Limit Liability: Investigate injuries, conditions and incidents that do, or could involve actual or potential liability including being involved in the handling of Workers Compensation claims with the Human Resources Department head.
· MSDA: Monitor jobsite compliance with all MSDS hazardous communications compliance. Monitor each employee’s safety training, job training, and make sure that Human Resources has all documentation for the employee’s personnel file as far as safety issues are concerned.

· Key Points & KPI’s: Carbon emissions, plastic waste, material sourcing/purchasing, and environmental impacts. Human rights, labor laws, Indiana Sugars impact on local community. Internal operations and satisfaction. 5-year plan.
Qualifications/Skills Required
· Excellent understanding of the manufacturing / packaging industries
· Punctual, motivated, detail oriented and not accept second best
· Strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment
· Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in workers compensation laws and company policies
· Willing to travel as needed
· Training experience
· Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks;
· Develop and enforce OSHA policies (accident reporting)
· Direct accident investigation procedures
· Maintains records if safety related incidents and propose corrective actions
· Organize/conduct OSHA related training plans and programs
1. PPE, LOTO, Lifting, Ergonomics

· Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
· Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
· Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSHA matters
o OSHA 300 document etc.
o Develop measures for: LTA & Total Incident Rate
· Conducts Risk Assessments, scheduled and unscheduled inspections

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
