Job Description: LIFE SAFETY/RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

OneHeart is a mission-driven campus for people to live while rebuilding their lives out of poverty. We are looking for people to help make our clients, whom we call “Guests”, feel safe. The Life Safety/Residential Support specialists provide supportive services to Guests and assist program participants in problem-solving outside of case-management sessions to help make daily life more manageable as Guests work their plans. They control and operate the secured entrance to the residential towers and are responsible for the safety and welfare of all staff, program participants, and visitors to the Campus.
Please note: Life Safety is a 24-hour-a-day job, so this position requires shift work. Please do not apply if you cannot do shift work. But the good news is shifts rotate every two months, so you are not stuck on a particular shift forever.
Monday-Thursday is 10-hour shifts 6:00AM-4:00PM/10:00AM-8:00PM/6:00PM-4:00AM. Fri/Sat/Sun is12-hour shifts 6:00AM-6:00PM and 6:00 PM-6:00 AM and people on this shift will need to make up 4 hours Monday through Thursday to make a 40 hour work week; we can be flexible with the additional 4 hours.

Duties
1. Works in the transitional living towers at OneHeart
2. With support of facilities staff, ensures general upkeep and safety of building, and responds to guests’ questions or issues
3. Provides trauma- and poverty-informed care to support client success through safety, responsiveness, and coordination of daily living needs
4. Works with Care Coordinators to encourage program adherence and update records in the TPASS system
5. Staffs welcome kiosk and monitors campus video surveillance
6. Helps program participants work through residential conflicts
7. Implements emergency plans and procedures
8. Inspects units, premises, and ensures safety of enrollees
9. Prevents persons not enrolled in the program and contraband from accessing the campus
10. Encourages anyone suspected of having contraband to surrender it to the Amnesty box, penalty-free
11. Attends team case management meetings at request of team, especially when safety issues arise
12. Provides feedback to team on supporting a safe campus environment
13. Other duties as assigned
Requirements
1. 21 years of age minimum
2. Clean driving record and current car insurance
3. Strong organizational and communication skills
4. Strong multi-tasking skills
5. Must be fluent in the English-language
6. Must be flexible and proficient at working alone, and with a team

Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
