Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of all employees on construction sites. This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and compliance with occupational health standards. The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing safety policies, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

Duties

Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) standards.
Collaborate with construction management teams to integrate safety practices into project planning and execution.
Provide training sessions for employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain records of incidents, accidents, and near misses; analyze data to identify trends and improve safety measures.
Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards related to construction activities.
Manage workers' compensation claims and assist in return-to-work programs for injured employees.
Utilize construction management software to track safety performance metrics and compliance documentation.
Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries from staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Experience

Proven experience in a safety officer role or similar position within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of risk management principles, compliance management, and occupational health regulations.
Familiarity with construction management software is preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to assess risks effectively and implement appropriate control measures.
Certification in Occupational Health & Safety or related field is an advantage.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
