Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking a Safety Technician II, to join Interstates Construction Team. Safety Tech II assists in promoting and instructing others in the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment by performing the following duties personally or through appropriate personnel using behavioral-based safety training. Safety Technician II is assigned to a specific construction project. Through effective training, instruction, advice, and coaching, Safety Technician II ensure that all personnel and operations on the job site are as safe as possible. Safety Technician II has advanced knowledge of safety processes and procedures. This position can work independently with limited direction.

This position reports to: Safety Manager
Position Summary:
- Instruct the site management to identify and immediately correct unsafe working conditions or equipment.
• Oversee and manage the day-to-day safety operations on a site.
• Lead investigations of unsafe acts/accidents to identify the root cause and corrective actions.
• Solely responsible for monitoring and promoting on-site safety audits.
• Lead site safety meeting
• Ability to train Interns or a Safety Technician I
• Works with Site management to ensure safety equipment/supplies are on site.
• Assist with the investigation and preparation of Root Cause Analysis meetings.
• Can manage site-specific injuries/accidents with little direction
- A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Occupational Health or Construction Safety
- Or 4-5 years of related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of both education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Able to track information and conduct audits
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
- Can effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work well with others and achieve results through others, without having a direct line of authority over them
- Must possess sound judgement skills, and the ability to prioritize work and deal with stress
