Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations at the front desk of our medical facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and office procedures. As the first point of contact for patients, the Front Desk Coordinator will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service and maintaining an efficient office environment.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification for patient visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar for patient scheduling and record management.
Assist with medical billing and coding tasks including CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding.
Review care plans and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Handle clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient flow and care coordination.
Provide administrative support to medical staff as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and EHR systems is essential.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are required.

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of medical coding practices including ICD coding is advantageous.
