We pride ourselves in our culture and our commitment to safety on the job. We are currently looking for an organized, energetic self-starter to join our Health & Safety Department. This position is ideal for a junior H&S professional with a strong aptitude for organization and communication, or a recent health and safety graduate eager to gain practical experience at one of the leading site subcontractors in the region. This position will be primarily office-based, with the possibility of weekly site visits and the potential for future growth in the field for the right person.

Strong administrative and organization skills, able to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy
Critical thinker who can recommend changes and improvements

What You’ll Do:

New hire H&S orientation and onboarding (in partnership with HR)
Manage and track various employee certifications and licenses, both at hire and ongoing
Track and manage ongoing training utilizing in-house database and programs
Manage subcontractor safety qualifications in support of contract and project administration
Support/backup incident and insurance claims management
Maintain internal H&S records and systems, including data entry and reporting
Coordinate and administer safety meetings and training, maintain records and minutes
Create and maintain project safety paperwork
Occasional site visits for safety inspections, stand-downs, meetings
Other tasks as assigned

Nice to Have:

Administrative experience and exposure to H&S programs in construction and/or transportation
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in H&S
