Komline-Sanderson Group is looking for a Director of Safety to join the team! This position can be based out of Peapack, NJ, Rockford, IL, or Washington, DC. The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines across a multi-site environment. This role is expected to continuously monitor and adapt safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees while providing support and guidance to on-site teams, especially site Safety leads.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
- Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 7+ years of proven experience as a safety manager/director
- Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and other health and safety guidelines
- Ability to produce meaningful reports and develop relevant policies
- Strong knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Willingness to travel- estimated 50% domestic
