Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental health and safety (EHS) programs and policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs on EHS topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and personal protective equipment..
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving workplace safety culture.
- Monitor and analyze EHS data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports on EHS performance for management review.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to EHS.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding EHS issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant environmental health and safety laws.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and delivering training programs.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and experience in managing workers' compensation claims.
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
- This position requires bilingual English and Spanish verbal and written literacy.
