As we continue to expand, we're excited to announce the addition of an Industrial Maintenance & Safety Coordinator to our team.
This position will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our buildings, grounds, and equipment to keep them in peak operating condition, including forklifts, cranes, beam lines, shears, brakes, saws, welders, and more. In addition, this position will also oversee safety planning, training, and inspections, while promoting a strong safety culture within the facility. This position requires someone who is a strong leader, adept multi-tasker, and experienced professional. We seek someone who takes the initiative and has the skills and work ethic to excel. This position is a full-time, hourly position, Monday through Friday. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Primary Responsibilities – Maintenance
1. Sets overall maintenance department goals and processes to accomplish company objectives.
2. Creates a preventive maintenance system procedure to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
3. Assign maintenance and repair tasks to the crew and ensure they are completed on time. Following up on work performed, etc.
4. Inspect and Maintain Equipment Calibrations.
5. Maintaining records of repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties, and inspections.
6. Assist on the floor when needed.
7. Hiring and training employees
8. Ensures health, safety, and regulations are followed.
9. Purchasing & maintaining of inventory of stocked supplies, consumables, etc.
Primary Responsibilities – Safety / OSHA / MPCA / Governmental Reporting
1. Safety planning- Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures and conduct risk assessments.
2. Training- Provide safety training to employees and teach supervisors and managers about health and safety standards.
3. Safety inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities to identify hazards and regulatory deficiencies.
4. Safety reporting: Prepare reports on hazardous conditions, accidents, and injuries, and maintain safety recordkeeping.
5. Safety compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local environmental health, and safety regulations.
6. Safety culture: Promote a safety-first culture.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
2. Projects involving equipment setup and special projects.
3. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Two to four years of post-secondary education or experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience as maintenance or safety supervisor or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude required in the following areas: building maintenance, hydraulics, small machines and engines, vehicles.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a strong attention to detail. Ability to learn new machinery quickly.
- Proficient computer skills, using windows and Microsoft Office (Word, excel)
- Understanding of basic budgeting.
- Excellent leadership abilities to effectively communicate, motivate and manage.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in an efficient manner.
9. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
10. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and handle heights of 35’. Must be able to lift (50) pounds comfortably, wear a respirator when needed, and pass a physical exam, respirator test and a drug & alcohol test.
The wage is based on experience.
