Overview
The swine health administrative specialist position is primarily responsible for ordering, distributing, and reconciling medications and supplies, as well as maintaining health tracking across the system. Secondary responsibilities include production data entry, assisting in month-end inventory reconciliation, and other data entry/management tasks.
Objectives: Complete understanding of platforms, primary responsibilities of med warehouse management in all regions, health tracking and reporting.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Med Warehouse/Health
§ Maintain proper handling and storage of products to ensure product integrity and value.
§ Communicate with production supervisors and suppliers to anticipate needs.
§ Source products for inventory, production managers, and sites.
§ Develop and maintain vendor relationships for best pricing, options, and to attain highest value.
§ Understand and interpret product specifications and information.
§ Ensure distribution and delivery of products.
§ Resolve and reconcile product delivery, availability, and shipment issues.
§ Assist and coordinate with other warehouse locations processes and order fulfillment.
§ Report on medication management and usage in system.
§ Perform receipt of goods in such a way that ensures we are paying for what we received, and the products are properly stored to ensure maximum asset utilization.
§ Maintain and update inventory software.
§ Set and modify reorder points to efficiently execute the ordering/purchasing process.
§ Perform monthly and annual physical counts; reconcile warehouse inventory variances.
§ Responsible for monthly period end reporting of inventory as assigned.
§ Identify, develop, and contribute to implementation of improvements related to med warehouse.
§ Maintenance and distribution of health records
§ Coordinate Veterinary Feed Directives (VFD); Enter and track VFDs in Feed Allocation System
§ Coordinate Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) and distribute.
§ Work with laboratory and service teams on diagnostic submissions.
Barn Vista/PorkView
§ Maintain and reconcile sites in Barn Vista.
§ Reporting on compliance in Barn Vista.
§ Assist with sustainability reporting.
§ PorkView data entry for reproduction and grow/finish records.
Project Specialist
§ Assisting with special projects requested by production teams.
§ Manage multiple projects in various areas by planning, implementing, and following up.
§ Ensure that all the important tasks are organized and accomplished.
§ Come up with unique ideas and be creative to improve projects.
§ Provide additional support when the workload is heavy to ensure that none of the teams are short on staffing when needed.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Understand the role and the processes of the Production Records / Feed Specialist to provide backup.
§ Regular, consistent attendance is essential to the function of this position.
§ Attend staff meetings and training meetings as scheduled and as required.
§ Follow all safety rules and practices and encourage coworkers to do the same.
§ Follow all applicable bio-security measures per company policies.
§ Any and all other tasks and responsibilities assigned to fulfill responsibilities of this position.

Working Conditions: Work is performed almost exclusively in an office. The hours of work will generally be during regular business hours, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. There will be some variation in work hours due to employee schedules, special projects, and other concerns.
