The role
As a Regional Safety Manager you will work closely with the Director of Environmental, Health, Safety & Compliance (Director of EHS&C), Operations Managers, Safety Team and the Executive Team to reach all company safety requirements and goals; managing safety performance in a diverse portfolio of environmental projects, ensuring regulatory/safety compliance and providing expert technical input; performing site investigations and client interaction; act as a safety and environmental champion, lead by example, and correct/coach unsafe conditions and behaviors among team members.
The Regional Safety Manager's specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to lead and train all newly hired and existing SES employees in the compliance of all company, customer, and industry safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Lead, conduct, and document daily safety briefings/meetings with all onsite SES employees.
- Daily conduct and thoroughly document safety audits of all onsite jobs being completed.
- Work with operational supervision to make corrections to any individual employee and worksite non-compliance issues found during an audit or at any other time to prevent re-occurrence.
- Maintain current knowledge of OSHA Regulations, including: PRCS, LO/TO, 40 Hr HAZWoper, PRCS Rescue, Fall Protection, PPE, etc.
- Thoroughly document and file all required safety paperwork.
- Conduct in-depth accident/incident investigations.
- Document and report all accident/incidents to the proper company, customer, state, and federal representatives.
- Initiate and maintain excellent customer contact and relationships.
- Evaluate jobs and maintain a presence at most critical jobsites, as needed.
- Develop and write JLA’s for local plant and SES employees. Drive change with a focus on safety (goal of zero accidents) and continual improvement. Manage a loss prevention system.
- Assist multiple location leadership to develop and implement operational procedures for safe and efficient distribution of all service lines in compliance with SES safety and environmental guidelines. This requires multi-state, regional travel.
- Ensure the company image is developed and maintained favorably with customers and suppliers.
The Regional Safety Manager will also undertake other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned by SES from time to time.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Safety, or other related discipline.
- 2+ years of health and safety compliance experience.
- OSHA 30 hour Training, preferred.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products. Must have the ability to communicate well with blue collar workers and white collar regulatory managers/inspectors.
- Good written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and organizational and scheduling skills are essential.

- Valid Driver’s license
- Professional Certification (ASP, CSP, GSP, etc), preferred
