Safety Manager

Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay informed about local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Ensure all company practices comply with safety laws and regulations.
• Develop, maintain, and update safety procedures and policies, facilitating regular audits and inspections.
• Ensure that Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are current and accessible to all employees.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.
• Implement and monitor effective safety controls and procedures to minimize risk exposure.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with management to develop a robust emergency response plan tailored to various scenarios.
Safety Culture & Training:
• Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization by engaging employees at all levels.
• Design and facilitate training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency protocols.
• Integrate safety considerations into onboarding and continuous training programs.
• Prepare and schedule ongoing training sessions covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, and relevant topics.
• Act as a role model for safe practices and encourage others to adopt safety-first behaviors.
Desired Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years in safety management or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, and incident investigations.
• Experience developing and implementing effective safety programs, preferably Behavior Based Safety.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, occupational safety, health, or a related field preferred.
• Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar are a plus.
Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and policies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in safety inspections, as well as Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
