An OCCI, Inc. On-site Safety and Health Officer is responsible for the management and evaluation of the overall safety and health of field operations at our US Army Corps of Engineers projects :
- Works with the project management team to evaluate and drive the work from a safety-focused approach;
- Regularly monitors employees for safe work practices, advising and correcting work methods when needed
- Assists in the preparation of Construction project safety plans
- Conducts daily safety briefings, project safety audits and inspections, including daily required reports and record-keeping;
- Conducts, or coordinates as needed, project Safety training onsite.
- Tracks all training records, and maintains updated list of certifications held by personnel onsite to ensure proper training is received in advance;
- Conducts Industrial Hygiene assessments of work processes and employees
- Leads accident/incident investigations in a timely manner and oversees report development
- Ensure environmental compliance and reports are submitted in timely manner.
Qualifications/Education:
- 5+ years of construction experience in a safety related role.
- Marine Construction experience a plus
- 30 hour OSHA Certification
- Previous experience with US Army Corps of Engineers and RMS a plus
- CPR / First-Aid trained, preferred
- Background check is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment
- Self-driven
- Ability to work on active construction site outdoors in a variety of climates
- Travel is required – project sites are in Michigan, Missouri and Maryland

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
