Job description
We are actively seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Associate to become an integral member of our growing team to support our US operations. The ideal candidate would be responsible for ensuring the highest quality and safety standards of imports including compliance with government and corporate specifications.
Job Description:
- Conduct full vendor compliance of all products from our suppliers as per the Food Safety Plan, Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) food safety regulations and maintain the highest level of food safety.
- Ensure that facilities follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) guidelines including developing a Food Safety Culture.
- Maintain all the audit & certificate documents from the suppliers per the requirement of the customers and central Quality Assurance (QA) team.
- Maintain a database for all information related to product specification, nutritional report and annual test report for every product imported into the country.
- Upgrade the existing quality systems to the requirements of different standards (HACCP, BRC and IFS) and legislation
- Monitor container damages and work closely with the supplier for claims.
- Assist in investigation of quality related issues reported by customers and the preparation of quality related reports (CAPA, Deviation and Investigation)
- Create document package as per customer requirements that are upto date and ready to send as and when required.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to other Department and Corporate office staff.
- Maintain and keep the samples inventory in the office organized and arrange the shipment of samples as and when required by the customers.
Qualifications:
- An Undergraduate Degree and previous experience in a Quality Assurance/Operations function preferably within the Food industry (Procurement, Retail, or Distribution.
- Knowledge, training, and experience in Good Production Practices (GPP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is considered a significant asset
- Knowledge of various GFSI recognized schemes for manufacturing.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment: Excel, Outlook, Office 365. Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Raise the bar regarding company QA standards and embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, analytical and organized
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
