Job Description: Primary Caregiver for Client (Live-In Position) LIC-P-WVT-08
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday
Location: Wilder, VT
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000/yr plus health Insurance
As the Primary Home Provider for the Client with Down syndrome, you will play a crucial role in ensuring his well-being, safety, and overall quality of life. This is a live-in position, and you'll be responsible for creating a supportive and nurturing environment where the Client can thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a Safe and Healthy Home Environment:
Ensure that the Client's living space is safe, clean, and conducive to his needs.
Address any safety concerns promptly.
Supervise and manage the Client's daily medication schedule, including refills.
Maintain accurate records of medications administered.
- Meal Planning and Budgeting:
Assist the Client with meal planning and create a food shopping list.
Manage his budget effectively.
Help the Client maintain an organized bedroom and manage his personal belongings.
- Maintain a House Calendar:
Update the house calendar with all activities and appointments related to the Client.
Coordinate schedules effectively.
Assist Client in scheduling weekend activities, including social and recreational opportunities.
Coordinate with Special Olympics events.
Oversee the Client's daily routines, including morning and after-work routines.
Effective Communication:
Keep the team informed of any schedule changes or updates.
Provide mentorship and feedback to new Home/Respite providers.
Additional Expectations for Home Support Providers (All Team Members):
Remind him about personal hygiene tasks.
Chores and Household Tasks:
Support Client with food shopping, preparation, and decision-making.
Encourage chores both inside and outside the house (e.g., laundry, recycling, shoveling).
Facilitate social interactions and recreational activities with peers.
Provide transportation for Special Olympics events.
Be prepared to provide emergency medical care if needed.
Administrative Duties:
Attend team meetings and therapy sessions.
Contribute to goal tracking and documentation.
Requirements:
Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Be able to use a computer and negotiate stairs.
Lift moderate weights (15-20 pounds) regularly.
