The Construction Safety Specialist provides ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION safety and health leadership and oversight in support of Atlantic Electric's Health and Safety Programs. This position will report to the QC/ Safety Director and is responsible for the coordination and implementation of health and safety programs to assure compliance with regulations, client requirements and institutional policies.

Job Description
- Provide initial site-specific safety and health orientations that, at a minimum, covers the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) to all project personnel.
- Ensure project personnel complete daily JSAs and JHAs.
- Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with the project-specific APP, AHAs, applicable OSHA regulations and client requirements: USACE EM385-1-1.
- In coordination with the Safety Director, interface with project staff, regulatory agencies, and customers to formulate corrective actions, as needed.
- Conduct on-site inspections and audits.
- Coordinate and track field personal safety and health training and certificates.
- Support project personnel in the reporting of all incidents and near miss events and ensure accurate information is communicated to the Safety and Human Resources Directors.
- Assist the Safety Director and Human Resources with investigations of serious incidents and near miss events.
- Ensure corrective actions that result from incident and near miss investigations, audits, and inspections are implemented.
- Other duties as assigned by the Safety Director.
Required Knowledge or Skills
- Minimum 2 years applicable experience in ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION and OSHA 30.
- Must have technical working knowledge OSHA, USACE EM 385-1-1, and other state and federal guidelines.
- Possess technical working knowledge of fall protections systems, electrical safety, permit-required confined spaces, excavation and trenching, load handling equipment, scaffolding, demolition, hazardous energy control, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, and incident investigation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach, mentor and lead.
- Ability to make independent judgments to manage and facilitate company programs/policies as they relate to the safety of our work.
- Some overnight travel to jobsite locations will be required.
