Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team in our Detox Center. As a Behavior Technician, you will work with individuals with substance abuse and other behavioral health needs to implement behavior plans and provide support. Responsibilities:
- Collect data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Teach and reinforce appropriate social skills and behaviors
- Assist with crisis management and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and interventions
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines, including HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with substance abuse or behavioral health needs is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and compassion for individuals with special needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- GED or high school diploma
- Preferred associates degree in a social services field
Skills:
- Preferred working knowledge of substance abuse and related behavioral health conditions
- Proficiency in medical documentation practices
- Understanding of behavioral health principles and techniques
- Knowledge of addiction counseling or social work is a plus
- Experience in patient care settings is beneficial
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in behavioral health field
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Crisis management skills for handling challenging situations
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively
