ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Safety Compliance Manager is responsible for MSHA compliance management, safety & health program development and administration, and safety data management for the facility.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manages the relationship with MSHA including compliance initiatives, citation management, accident investigation management and all other interfaces.
- Manage the Corrective Action Plan with MSHA. Includes communication of plan objectives to internal stakeholders and update management reports with MSHA.
- Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the safety and health program. Provide effective communication to the plant workforce, management team and Joint Health & Safety Committee.
- Manages and administers the EHS Insights data management system.
- Participates on periodic H&S related audits/inspections/analysis to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance, prepares action plans, and works with appropriate individuals to ensure successful completion.
- Participates on the Joint Health & Safety committee.
- Works with the internal training department to ensure accurate recordkeeping is maintained.
Qualifications
- Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer and other general purpose and industry specific software packages.
- Possess an understanding of document control as it relates to the security, health, and safety processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, self-starting and proactive, and have strong organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set goals, and complete commitment on schedule.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Team player works effectively and cooperatively with others. Actively shares knowledge and skills with others.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering, Industrial Safety and Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, or related field required.
- Must have 5+ years' experience in the safety and health field in petrochemical/industrial sites.
- MSHA regulatory experience is a must
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
Language Skills
Analyze and interpret information. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Physical Demands
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs up to 100 feet. Must possess ability to carry and utilize all required personal protective equipment. Ability to sit for long periods and work at a computer.
Work Environment
- Must be able to support plant operations which are in continuous operation and work outdoors in various types of weather conditions.
