Traveling Safety Professional
Starting Project Location: New Mexico
Aurum Construction is seeking a Traveling Safety Professional to join our growing team. This role will begin on a project in New Mexico and travel to active projects as business needs require.
Aurum is a fast-growing, self-perform concrete contractor backed by Goldenrod Companies. We build complex, high-profile projects across the country and are looking for a safety leader who is comfortable in the field, proactive in preventing risk, and committed to building a strong safety culture.
Position Summary
The Traveling Safety Professional is responsible for promoting and enforcing Aurum’s construction safety culture across active job sites. This individual will conduct safety observations and assessments, support incident reporting and investigations, ensure proper PPE is available, and maintain close communication with the Senior Safety Manager, project leadership, and field teams.
This is a hands-on field role requiring regular travel, with occasional night and weekend work based on project needs.
Responsibilities
· Conduct regularly scheduled job-site safety observations and assessments.
· Attend pre-project safety walks, inspections, and planning meetings.
· Identify job-site safety risks and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
· Educate field employees on safety expectations, safe equipment operation, traffic control, and project-specific procedures.
· Enforce Aurum safety procedures as well as client and project safety requirements.
· Maintain daily work logs and accurate safety documentation.
· Report, document, and help investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, claims, complaints, and unsafe working conditions.
· Review inspection and incident data to identify trends and help implement preventive or corrective actions.
· Maintain current knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, and construction safety best practices.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 - 5 years of dedicated construction safety experience.
- Or 1 yr with a degree
- Or 3 yrs with a safety designator
Certifications: An active OSHA 30 certification is required.
· Experience supporting general construction projects; concrete and excavation experience is strongly preferred.
· Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices.
· First Aid instructor certification or other construction-related training certifications are a plus.
· Valid driver’s license required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; familiarity with Autodesk or other construction software is a plus.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with both office and field personnel.
· A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the initiative to improve safety practices when opportunities are identified.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
