We are actively recruiting for a pending contract award supporting Army TRADOC Range Operations at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, California.
Position Overview
The Range Safety Officer develops, implements, and enforces the Fort Irwin Range Safety Program and Range Laser Safety Program, and conducts surface danger zone and weapons danger zone analyses for all live-fire and maneuver training events.
Required Qualifications
All candidates must meet each of the following requirements. Applications that do not clearly demonstrate all qualifications will not be considered.
- Formal training on each of the following: Range Managers Tool Kit, Surface Danger Zone Tool, Weapons Danger Zone Tool, On Range Ammunition Holding Tool (ORAH), Range Training Events Planning System (TEPS), Laser Range Certification Tool, Explosives Training Range Tool (ETRS), and ArcGIS.
- 5 years of experience working as a Range Safety Officer at a range operations facility with high OPTEMPO and complex training missions.
- Experience developing control measures for most Department of Defense weapon systems and ammunition types.
