Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to offer peer support rooted in shared lived experience, fostering trust and motivation for recovery.
- Assist individuals in developing personalized wellness plans and connecting them with appropriate behavioral health resources.
- Utilize crisis intervention skills to de-escalate situations and ensure safety during mental health or addiction crises.
- Implement crisis management techniques to respond effectively to urgent client needs while maintaining composure and professionalism.
- Document interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Provide mentoring and motivational interviewing to encourage positive behavioral changes and sustain recovery efforts.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, social workers, and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive support services for clients.
Skills
- Proven ability in crisis intervention and crisis management, demonstrating calmness under pressure.
- Deep understanding of behavioral health issues, including mental health counseling and addiction counseling principles.
- Strong mentoring skills with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals through recovery journeys.
- Excellent communication skills, including motivational interviewing techniques that empower clients toward change.
- Familiarity with social work practices and community resource navigation to assist clients effectively.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and case management purposes.
