Brief Description
The Safety Professional monitors workplace and commercial construction project activities to promote and ensure employee compliance with applicable safety regulations. The successful candidate will work independently while supporting field personnel and demonstrate a high level of construction safety expertise.
Key Accountabilities
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems
- Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards
- Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements and updates
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations
- Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacement
- Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Education And Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
- OSHA 30 for Construction and CPR First Aid certification
- Advanced knowledge of construction safety techniques
Skills & Abilities - Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
- Expertise in trade-specific hazardous recognition
- Experience in case injury/illness management and investigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to conduct safety coaching and training

Summary
Working Environment:
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme cold/heat and winds.
- Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, hard hat and steel toe boots must be always worn.
- Hearing, respiratory and/or fall protection equipment must be worn when required.
