Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Unipres USA Inc.’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Team is seeking an EHS Specialist. You will
collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development, implementation, and monitoring
of EHS programs and initiatives, helping to drive continuous improvement. You will support the
compliance of EHS standards at the local, state, and federal levels, and work to promote a culture of
safety and environmental stewardship. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on EHS experience
working with a Tier 1 automotive supplier manufacturing company.
Job Duties:
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in interpreting complex federal, state, and local
EHS regulations to determine their impact on company operations and formulate appropriate
compliance strategies.
Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, programs.
Prepares and maintains operational documents, records, and audit reports, including Safety
Data Sheets.
Conducts inspections on department facilities, work areas, equipment, vehicles, and life safety
equipment.
Assist with analyzing incident data and compiling trend analysis reports, monthly reports and
other reports as requested.
Provide technical safety and health support and information to all employees to ensure
employees are operating in a safe, orderly, and clean environment.
Manage medical support in compliance with all “best practice” methods known to the medical
profession.
Work with HR in regard to W/C litigation claims.
Analyze risk assessments, near miss, and accident data to present to the management team.
Incident Investigation: Review injury/illness reports and non-injury incident investigations,
follow up on trends, recommend and follow up on countermeasures, and support management
in action planning.
Ergonomic Planning: Utilize ergonomic guidelines to address current manufacturing injury
concerns and future model planning, contributing to overall employee safety.
Administer mandatory environmental, health and safety training and ensure all newly hired
employees, agency employees, contractors, visitors and transferred employees receive proper
training.
Work with the operational teams to improve the working environment, reducing the impacts to
the employee from operational activities. Make recommendations on process and product
safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards.
Conduct internal audits, work place inspections, and health & safety tours to the prescribed
frequency ensuring compliance to audit standards. Work with auditors and vendors to answer
findings and complaints in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
Develop and maintain emergency preparations and responses. Serve as a member of the First
Aid/CPR Responder teams.
Facilitate safety committees and safety engagement initiatives.
Develop working knowledge of federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Science Degree in Occupational Safety & Health with an accredited US based
university.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have strong computer applications and software such as MS office programs
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other government regulations, OSHA 10 hr. and 30 hr.
certification within 6 months onsite
Ability to work and be flexible and available for on call hours before and/or after normal
business hours in addition to off-shift hours as required.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Unipres
in the US
Must have a valid drivers license

Pay: $47,668.00 - $71,502.00 per year
