Join us in this role where you’ll lead the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) function for Ørsted’s growing onshore renewable portfolio in the US. You’ll provide day‑to‑day leadership, oversight, and governance of QHSE programs across development and construction, with a strong focus on EPC contractor management, regulatory compliance, and quality delivery.
Welcome to QHSE
You’ll be part of QHSE Onshore Projects where you together with your colleagues will drive QHSE strategy into daily practice across multi‑site projects, supporting field teams and site leadership to deliver safe, compliant, and high‑quality execution. You’ll report to the VP QHSE Onshore, and your role is based in Austin, Texas. As a team, we succeed as one, care for each other, pass on power through strong leadership, and put safety at the center of every decision.
You’ll play an important role in:
- leading the QHSE program across onshore development, construction, and contractor interfaces
- developing, implementing, and continuously improving the US onshore QHSE management system, policies, standards, and procedures
- ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local QHSE regulations, and driving risk mitigation through incident investigations and corrective actions
- setting clear QHSE expectations for EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, including audits, assessments, and performance reviews
- providing functional leadership to field‑based QHSE professionals, ensuring consistent standards across project locations
- defining KPIs, monitoring performance, and reporting QHSE progress to senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have a degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- bring strong leadership experience running QHSE programs in onshore energy projects, including renewables, across multiple sites and stakeholders
- have deep working knowledge of US regulatory requirements relevant to QHSE, including OSHA and EPA frameworks
- are confident managing EPC and contractor QHSE performance through contractual requirements, prequalification, and ongoing governance
- communicate clearly, influence effectively, and build trust with site leaders, contractors, regulators, and community partners
- use data and insight to prioritize risks, improve performance, and strengthen a proactive safety culture.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
