Position Summary
The Safety Manager will function as the company’s subject matter expert for all safety programs and initiatives. The Safety Manager will be responsible for safety, health and environmental policies and procedures and will work with management to meet the company’s profitability and productivity objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Create and track required employee training for each position and task
- Audit implementation of the company safety management program
- Administer industry required safety training; forklift, scissor lift, respiratory, new employee orientation, etc.
- Job site inspections of personnel, equipment, and training
- Research and implement new processes and procedures for employee safety
- Investigate accidents for root causes to supply recommendations, training, and new procedures
- Advise executive and management team on safety practices, procedures, and programs
- Conduct safety committee meetings to discuss ongoing safety concerns and projects
- Prepare AHA’s, SDS’s, 300 Log, and other necessary compliance documentation
- Maintain safety files, reports, training records, etc.
- Perform regular reviews of existing and new regulatory compliance items from OSHA and HIOSH
- Regularly inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of related experience and/or training
- Experience in OSHA, HIOSH, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Strong communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Solid writing abilities to generate reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Clean Driver’s Traffic Abstract
- Must reside on Oahu and be eligible to work in the United States
Working Conditions
Primary work environment is in an office at a computer workstation. Will be required to travel by own or company vehicle to job sites and meetings. May be subject to irregular working hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Physical Requirements
Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time. May be required to climb stairs, squat, reach overhead, and lift/carry items up to 50lbs. May be required to use instruments such as a tape measure or calculator.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
