About the Role
The Senior EHS Specialist serves as a key technical resource responsible for advancing a strong safety and environmental compliance culture at the site. This role partners closely with site leadership and cross functional teams to identify hazards, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting operational goals. This position is well suited for professionals with backgrounds in military police, law enforcement, firefighting, education, paralegal work, or construction safety, where skills in risk management, compliance, training, and incident response are highly transferable to EHS leadership.
Work Environment
- Onsite role in a manufacturing environment
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- Some travel may be required to support other Lexington locations
Core Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety and environmental culture through employee engagement, training, and leadership partnership.
- Partner with site leaders and cross functional teams to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.
- Lead EHS initiatives that reduce risk, improve safety performance, and enhance environmental compliance.
- Conduct assessments, observations, and data reviews to identify hazards and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain regulatory compliance, including permits, documentation, audits, and required reporting.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis to promote learning and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in EHS, environmental studies, sustainability management, engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety, environmental, or sustainability role
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards (federal and state)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or multi site environment
- Incident investigation and data analysis experience
- Passion for employee engagement and culture based safety programs
