As a Dulles Airport Construction Safety Engineer, you will play a vital role, as part of a safety team working with a "blue chip" GC promoting a culture of safety excellence. Your proactive approach will help identify hazards, mitigate them, implement risk management strategies, and ensure safety compliance. Since all trades are represented on this project, this Safety position offers a chance to grow your expertise in all aspects of construction safety, OSHA regulations, and construction management while supporting the well-being of our workforce.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections across construction sites to identify potential hazards, mitigate them, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor risk management procedures to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with construction management teams and subcontractors to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and project planning.
- Oversee occupational health initiatives, including ergonomic assessments and wellness programs, to promote worker well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incident reports, and compliance documentation using construction management software.
- Lead safety training and orientation sessions for workers and subcontractors to reinforce safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with evolving EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site safety, with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and OSHA compliance management, minimum of 5 years.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and occupational health best practices within the construction industry.
- Ability to manage safety programs using construction management software tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively train teams and coordinate with project stakeholders.
- Ability to assess hazards quickly and implement effective mitigation strategies in fast-paced environments.

Additional Info:
- Pay Range $50 - $65 /hr., based on experience and qualifications
- Overtime 1.5x (>40 hrs./week)
- Anticipated scheduled 50-60+ hours/week (10-20+ hours OT/week)
- Per Diem currently not offered
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
