POSITION SUMMARY
Yantis Company is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the company’s safety, health, environmental, and risk management programs.
This role is responsible for assisting and executing company-wide EHS strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT), reducing risk exposure, and fostering a proactive safety culture across all operations.
The EHS Manager will manage the Safety Department Field Technicians, work hand in hand with the Vice President of Safety & Operations as well as support the executive leadership, and remain actively engaged in field operations, inspections, training, and accidents or incident response as required.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
Occasional late nights and weekend work required
Availability required for emergency accident or incident response (could include nights and weekends)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Strategy
- Report to Vice President of Safety & Operations
- Lead, manage, and develop Safety Field Technicians
- Promote a strong safety culture across all companywide divisions
- Support Executive Management Team with safety performance and risk mitigation
- Assist to implement and maintain Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & 1926 (including Subparts P & Q)
- Ensure compliance with DOT 49 CFR Parts 300–399 and applicable regulations
- Facilitate assistance to implement safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Lead audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions as needed
Field Operations & Inspections
- Oversee and participate in daily jobsite and facility safety inspections
- Ensure all inspections are documented and reported same day
- Update and manage jobsite safety visits and inspection routing
- Maintain strong field presence and support operations as needed
- Maintain and manage good filing systems for all inspections and documentation
Incident Management & Claims
- Respond to and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses (including after-hours)
- Ensure all claim files include causation, corrective actions, and final conclusions
- Maintain complete documentation including reports, photos, emails, and insurance forms
- Maintain organized safety and insurance file systems as needed to support safety department
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver field and classroom safety training programs – as needed
- Ensure completion and documentation of all training requirements
- Conduct training outside normal hours when required
- Maintain all training records and compliance documentation in our file system
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain all safety-related documentation and reporting systems
- Ensure all safety and insurance files are audit-ready
- Support company-wide compliance efforts

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive EHS experience (construction preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA (1910 & 1926), EPA, (EM 385-1-1) and DOT regulations
- Experience managing safety teams and field personnel
- Proven experience in incident investigation, compliance, and claims management
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate strategically and hands-on
Preferred:
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent
- Safety-related degree or equivalent certifications
- Heavy civil construction experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
