As a Public Safety Associate (Partner Relations) at IOH's First Responder Institute (FRI), you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between first responder agencies and our life-changing services. Reporting directly to the Vice President Marketing & Partner Relations, this position involves proactive outreach, relationship building, and education to increase awareness of FRI’s specialized programs, ensuring agencies can easily access support for their personnel. You will serve as a trusted liaison for initial engagements, fostering early partnerships that promote mental health resilience and recovery within the public safety community. This role requires a passion for first responder wellness, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining seamless stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Do
- Outreach and Awareness Building: Conduct targeted outreach to untapped and warm leads in first responder agencies, including law enforcement, fire departments, and corrections facilities, to build awareness of FRI/IOH services. Educate agency representatives on our treatment programs, workers' compensation processes, and the benefits of our intensive outpatient and Integrated Detox and Trauma Recovery Center.
- Training Coordination: Organize and coordinate peer support trainings for agency staff, working with IOH clinicians to deliver in-depth education on the chronic conditions we treat (e.g., PTSD, chronic pain, TBIs, substance abuse) and how FRI's treatments support long-term recovery.
- Event Management: Coordinate and staff booths at first responder-specific conferences and events, representing IOH/FRI to engage attendees, distribute resources, and generate leads for potential new partnerships, with handoffs to the Director for VIP escalations.
- CRM and Data Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system in HubSpot, tracking outreach activities, new leads, and partnership progress to ensure data-driven relationship management.
- Email and Communication Campaigns: Develop and execute email outreach strategies, including introductory messages about FRI, invitations for leadership meetings and tours, promotions for webinars and articles, and updates on company initiatives to nurture leads and sustain engagement.
- Accessibility and Support: Serve as a reliable point of contact, providing 24/7 availability for agencies to reach out with questions, concerns, or urgent needs related to service access, workers' compensation navigation, or program details, escalating complex issues to the Director.
- Workers' Compensation Expertise: Gain and apply foundational knowledge of California workers' compensation processes to assist agencies in navigating claims, referrals, and eligibility requirements for FRI services.
- Program Knowledge and Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of the full 360 model of care at IOH. Including unimodal services, IOP, destination care, the Integrated Detox and Trauma Recovery Center, and all IOH/FRI offerings to effectively communicate value propositions and address stakeholder inquiries.
- Meeting and Relationship Scheduling: Schedule introductory meetings with new agencies interested in IOH services and conduct regular check-ins with existing clients to strengthen relationships, identify ongoing needs, and ensure program satisfaction.
- Partnership Development: Proactively create and nurture new relationships with wellness programs, peer support leads, and other key influencers within first responder networks to expand FRI's reach and impact.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in outreach, partner relations, or sales within healthcare, nonprofit, or public safety sectors.
- Cultural Competency and a strong understanding of first responder challenges, particularly mental health and substance use disorders.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively in high-stakes, time-sensitive situations.
- Knowledge of California workers' compensation systems is a plus; willingness to learn required.
- Passion for supporting first responders and commitment to trauma-informed, compassionate service delivery.
- Experience in law enforcement, military service, or closely related to these fields is not required but highly preferred.
