Title: Safety Coordinator
Location: Timewell, IL
Reports To: Director Human Resources
Supervises: None
Works independently or with minimal supervision 95% of the time.
Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator must have a mindset of excellence toward helping employees work safely and productively. The Safety Coordinator must be proactive in their approach to identifying and acting on training needs and regulatory compliance issues related to productivity and safety. The Safety Coordinator must be diligent regarding attention to detail and following established procedures for, training, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and support safe working environment and practices
- Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily
- Work proactively with management to coordinate training programs that improve employee performance and reduce accident risk
- Conduct safety checks
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Manage Workers’ Compensation claims
- Maintain OSHA 300 records
Occasional Duties:
- Evaluate new benefits options
- Coordinate revisions to employee handbook
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent successful experience in Occupational Safety or other related field
- Proactive mindset focused on eliminating risk for employees and the company.
- Consistent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to establish effective rapport with employees
- Above average competency in communication skills
- Proven ability to effectively apply Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
