This position provides SUD services to a prison population. The SUDP/T will provide group and one on one counseling services daily, as well as ASAM compliant assessments. WAC and Department of Corrections (DOC) compliant charting is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) credential in Washington, displayed on the Department of Health (DOH) license website.
- A preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practices, including group counseling skills, one-on-one counseling skills, treatment service plans, assessments.
- Candidate cannot have served any DOC prison time or DOC Community Supervision within the last five years.
- Applicant must be able to attend and pass a 17-day Correctional Worker CORE Academy within the first year of employment.
Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, or stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and ability to talk and hear. The employee must be capable of occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
1. Candidate must be able to work within a moderately restrictive prison environment.
2. Ensure that the SUD Program structure remains intact and responds to any instances that would compromise the program integrity.
3. Must ensure compliance with federal, state, and interagency regulations.
4. Ensure that all clinical activities remain in compliance with all contractual requirements.
5. Communicates with all on duty staff as necessary to ensure that the program is being followed and that agency and state standards are being adhered to both in spirit and intent.
6. Model and enforce ABHS policies and procedures in a fair manner consistent with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
7. Must model the culture of excellent customer service as adapted by ABHS, as well as the Washington State Department of Corrections Mission Statement.
8. Display strong dedication to delivering evidence-based services and support for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
9. Complete surveys on outcome and program performance measures as defined internally and externally.
10. Foster effective teamwork and communication between all members.
11. May perform other duties and special assignment as assigned.
