JOB DESCRIPTION
The Regional Safety Manager is a field-based position responsible for overseeing safety initiatives and compliance for the South Texas region. This role involves implementing safety programs, conducting audits, providing training, and promoting a culture of safety. The Regional Safety Manager collaborates closely with operations managers, supervisors, CMV company drivers and employees to ensure adherence to safety regulations, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position, 40+ hours per week which may include weekends and holidays. Must have the availability to travel by car, airplane and other means to locations anywhere in the United States when needed. Approximate travel is 40%.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist Safety Director in preparing, revising and updating safety policies and procedures.
· Ensures that federal, state and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules are observed, recorded, and reported as required.
· Ensures that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
· Perform terminal safety/compliance inspections to evaluate compliance with OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, Texas Railroad Commission, US Coast Guard, and NFPA regulations as well as Company policies. Work with operations, maintenance and other departments to assist in implementing corrective actions if needed.
· Identify CMV driver Hours-of Service issues and provide coaching as needed
· Provide coaching to CMV drivers on the CMV Defensive Driving Code (Smith System)
· Assist with investigations of safety incidents and accidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action measures.
· Be on call to handle accidents, coordinate emergency response, and communicate with Corporate Safety and Operations Teams.
· Assists in risk management responsibilities as assigned by the Safety Director.
· Conducts quarterly safety meetings.
· Performs other related duties as required by Senior Management.
· Coach and hold accountable employees for safety compliance

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS/AS Degree in Occupational Safety or similar degree field. May consider experience in lieu of education. Typically, 4-5 years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a BS/AS degree.
Extensive knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, EPA, OSHA regulations.
Knowledge of Oil Field Operations (terminal and marine) is preferred but not required.
Good organizational skills and leadership ability.
Proficient in using computer software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent people skills.
Must be able leverage critical thinking to ensure regulatory compliance
