Position Summary: Assisting the Safety Manager with the Responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) operational support, coordination, and execution in areas of policies, programs, and procedures, including, but not limited to: maintaining a safety program involving incident identifications, accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, and environmental and regulatory agency compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
·• Be familiar and incompliance with all safety procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
- Distributing Toolbox talks to field personnel.
- Providing PPE and First Aid Kit support.
- Provide educational training and materials designed to implement and maintain an effective safety and health program. This includes building and designing PowerPoints for training.
- Documenting, reviewing, conducting, and/or correcting safety and health reviews, inspections, walk- throughs, and audits at the jobsites and on equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Assisting in recognizing and controlling the safety and/or industrial hygiene problems at the jobsite.
- Participate in career fairs and recruitment activities as requested.
- Providing assistance to field personnel, as needed.
- Knowledge and enforcement of OSHA standards.
- Knowledge and enforcement of hazardous materials storage and waste programs.
- Documenting, reviewing, conducting, and/or correcting stormwater reviews, inspections, walk- throughs, and audits at the jobsites.
- Traveling out of town for safety/stormwater
- Maintain safety records and documentation.
- The ability to lift 80+ pounds
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards including OSHA 1926 Construction
- Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- 1 year of commercial construction safety experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Employees must have a valid driver’s license.
- Good oral and written communication skills; ability to speak in front of large groups at times.
- Must possess problem solving skills and be self-motivated.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
