Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, assisting them in their journey towards recovery and well-being. You will work closely with mental health professionals to implement treatment plans and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
Duties
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of patients in a mental health facility.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the clinical staff.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and engage clients in therapeutic activities.
- Administer medications as prescribed, with an understanding of psychopharmacology principles.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care provided.
- Implement art therapy techniques to promote expression and healing among clients.
Skills
- Strong understanding of mental health issues and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect towards clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology concepts to assist in medication management.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient behavior and report findings accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
