Role and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator independently manages the technical configuration of and provides end user support for ATSSA’s Learning Management System; integrates associated software systems; and resolves complex technical challenges. The LMS Administrator will initially manage and support the Saba Cloud platform. In early 2026, ATSSA will select and begin implementing a new LMS and Student Information System (SIS). The LMS Administrator will have a lead role in the implementation and will support the new LMS after the transition. Qualified candidates must have the demonstrated aptitude to learn new technology while working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
LMS Administration (40%)
- Leads the implementation of the new LMS and SIS to include working with the implementation vendor and staff to configure, test, and launch the new platforms.
- Administers, configures, and maintains ATSSA’s LMS and future SIS in accordance with ATSSA policies and industry best practices for system administration.
- Provides support regarding LMS initiatives to ensure the system is working and used optimally; interfaces with departments to understand their data usage and provides technical support on projects as requested.
- Facilitates discussions with business and technical stakeholders to extract critical business requirements and presents technical solutions, customizations, and product integrations to meet those needs. Balances user requests with technical and resource constraints.
- Collaborates on technical projects to ensure alignment with established technology roadmaps.
- Conducts data imports and performs regular data hygiene activities.
Customer Support (40%)
- Responds to help desk tickets and resolves issues related to the LMS and related systems.
- Tracks and reports on recurring or emerging user support issues and finds appropriate solutions.
- Assists staff with developing system reports and interpreting data.
Department Activities (20%)
The ATSSA Department of Information Technology includes the Director of Information Technology, a Sr. Systems Administrator, and the LMS Administrator. ATSSA contracts technical support and security to a Managed Service Provider. ATSSA IT is customer centric and technology driven.
- Drafts, updates, and maintains standard operating procedures, training materials, guides, and other documentation for the LMS and related systems.
- Cross trains to provide limited back-up support to the Sr. Systems Administrator.
- Participates in annual department operations activities such as budget planning; strategic and operations planning, etc.
- Other duties as assigned that drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the association.
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will be a learning management system expert with five or more years of relevant work experience as an LMS administrator or similar with a primary responsibility in LMS management. Proven experience in LMS administration and SIS administration; exhibited database experience and data integrity skills; experience and proficiency with MS Office, and other relevant technologies. Experience administering multiple LMS platforms and LMS platforms with e-commerce is highly preferred.
