Health and Safety Consultant | Contract Positions

We collaborate closely with organizations, including Fortune 500 companies and governments, to enhance performance by offering integrated support that prioritizes productivity and growth while minimizing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Company Offerings:

CMI is expanding, and we're looking for On-Call, Health and Safety Consultants to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead health and safety initiatives, overseeing OSHA compliance, ISO 45001/OSHA VPP audits, risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, machine guarding assessments, HazWoper training, and safety programs.
Provide expert health and safety services, including developing procedures, conducting training, performing risk assessments, and preparing concise reports.
Assist in management activities, such as proposal preparation, project management, staff mentoring, and customer acquisition, maintaining a 90% direct utilization rate.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of company policies for time tracking and expense reporting.
Stay abreast of industry knowledge through active participation in professional associations, literature review, networking, and presentations.

Requirements and Experience:

5 plus years working as a safety trainer and consultant
Experience training a wide variety of safety courses
Ability to create safety presentations
Engaging and personable presenter
Strong customer service skills
Experience writing work place risk assessments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines

Education and Credentials

Bachelors degree in a Health and Safety discipline
Professional credentials such as ASP, SMS, OHST or CHST
OSHA 501 or 500 strongly desired
First Aid CPR Instructor

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Ability to climb a ladder.
Ability to stoop, crawl and bend
Ability to lift up to 30lbs

Other Requirements:

Background check and potential drug screening required for the position
Overtime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demands
Residence within a reasonable commuting distance
