The Berwyn Public Health District is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner to support inspections, investigations, and environmental health compliance efforts. This position involves both fieldwork and office responsibilities.

This role plays a key part in protecting public health by ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of food establishments and other facilities to ensure compliance with health regulations
Review plans, applications, and equipment specifications for regulatory compliance
Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
Investigate complaints related to foodborne illness, sanitation, and environmental concerns
Perform field surveys related to sanitation, infestations, and public health risks
Provide education and guidance to residents, businesses, and community partners
Assist with emergency preparedness and response activities
Travel to various inspection sites as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required:

0–1 year of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Valid Illinois Driver’s License
Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner (LEHP)
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health
Prior experience in environmental health or public health inspections

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
